CARCROFT COMES 2ND!
Through the Sustrans "bike it" program and the choosing Health funded cycle storage unit Carcroft youngsters have been turning to pedal power to get too and from school. Last week Year 6 were taken on a supervised bike ride, with teachers, Doncaster PCT and the bike it officer all in tow where everyone did 6 miles around the area. The school have been participating in a Tour De France style competition run by the Bike It Program to record how many children cycle to school. In a short space of time Carcroft have moved right up the scoreboard to come second behind Castle Hills Primary school. Credit goes to all the children participating in the scheme, school staff and parents encouraging their children to cycle to school and to do so safely. On Tuesday the school had a special show put on for them by Mountain bike champions showcasing their riding skills with spectacular jumps, stunts and displays to celebrate them coming second place.
