Healthier Schools 2008
Both Owston Park Primary School and Carcroft Primary school in the area have taken part in a 3 month pilot project funded through Doncaster PCT's Choosing Health Project to integrate more physical activity into the school day and promote more after school clubs. The pilot will use sport as a tool to deliver physical activity programs and is run through Active Regen who provide Qualified and vetted coaches to run such schemes. If this is succesful we are hoping to pursue other avenues in attracting funding for providing more out of school activities in the area and to work closely with other community groups in Carcroft and Skellow. The clubs are open from children aged 5+.
Carcroft Primary School have had Sustrans run a year lonG cycling program in School, obtained a 30 cycle undercover storage facility funded through Doncaster NHS and won various Borough wide competitions around cycling participation.
