Owston Park Primary School
Owston Park Primary School children have been trading cars for bikes with loads of chidlren cycling to and from School on a daily basis. Tom Collister, bike it officer for Doncaster, has been working closely with the School running assemblies and classes to help equip the chidlren with the necessary skills to ride safely whislt having fun. Bikeability level 1 / 2 has been taking place at the School. Drivers in the village please take extra care around School openings and finishing times as there alot of children about on bikes / walking. Recently the School came first in a walking poster competition, and the children got to visit the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield as the top prize. They beat over 100 other children in 8 other Schools. Then they did one better in an even bigger walking competition where they had to cycle, walk, scooter, park and stride bus or train. They came second but ran Tickhill St Marys really close and lost out by the narrowest of margins in the final in June 2010. Well done Owston Park!
